Prompt 2 Spring:

I was lucky enough that I did not experience bullying as a student. Looking back at my middle and high school experience I don't recall any specific stories of bullying however I am sure it was present. I remember there was one student who was bullied by other students. It was mainly verbal and a lack of including in group activities. I remember at the time feeling really bad or her but not knowing what to do or say in the moment. As a teacher this experience has helped me because it reminds me what I need to do to help students who are being bullied. It is hard as a high schooler to step up and say something but I can now play that role to try and help all parties.
Prompt 1 Spring:

My goals for Spring 2014 are to have overall higher class averages, to get as many of my students to pass the AIMs test as possible and to have more of a balance between my work life and personal life. Three things that I hope to change this semester are implementing a system for students who need late work, implement a system that forces students to be more accountable for completing their warm-ups, and work on my classroom management in general. My Cadre leader can support me with these goals by sharing any resources or ideas that she has that have worked for her or she has seen work for other teachers. Also general moral support is always beneficial (moral boosts and reminders that it is okay when not everything goes according to plan were one of the most helpful things I received from anyone last semester).
